BLACK AND GREY TATTOOS

Luckily, grayscale imagery have proved to be timeless despite new technology that allows us to see images in all of its colorful glory via HD and or 4K. Maybe it’s the simplicity of it, but our affinity for black and white photos never fade and the same can be said for black and grey (or black and gray) tattoos.

If you are new to the world of tattoos you may have noticed grayscale tattoos are always referred to as black and grey and not black and white. White pigment does exist of course but when it comes to tattooing, the skin serves as the “white” element of the color palette and so only tones of grey and black are used to create a grayscale tattoo.

Black and grey tattoos are extremely popular, and are used in almost every tattoo style from Realism, Japanese, American Traditional, Geometric to anything imaginable.
