About Vicar's Landing
Ideally set on a sprawling, naturally adorned 24-acre campus, Vicar’s Landing is located in one of Florida’s most peaceful and exquisite seaside communities. At Vicar’s Landing, you get the best of everything. There are endless ways to relax, yet there’s also a vibrant social scene and a never-ending list of activities to enjoy. There’s a casual place to grab a bite wearing your sandals, and fine dining options that would make any high-end restaurateur green with envy. There are exquisite residences that you can make all your own, yet there’s great comfort in knowing that there’s always someone right around the corner to take care of any needs you may have.
It all goes back to our core values. We are committed to quality, professionalism, integrity, caring, dedication and respect. These principles drive our community, guide our management and inspire our staff to achieve exceptional performance and deliver outstanding service.Vicar’s Landing can trace its history back to 1982. It was then that Rev. James H. Cooper realized that this wonderful area in North Florida was perfect except for one important aspect. There wasn’t a residential retirement community to meet the needs of area residents, most of whom wanted to continue living life to the fullest. Rev. Cooper, along with members of his congregation, formed a committee and laid the foundation for what would become Vicar’s Landing. With retirement communities, if you don’t do things right, you don’t last long. Fortunately, with the goal of always putting Members first, not only has Vicar’s Landing survived, our community is thriving and our grounds have never looked better! From humble beginnings over a quarter-century ago, Vicar’s Landing has grown to include hundreds of fabulous independent-living residences. And that’s just the beginning. Our Gold Seal award-winning skilled nursing facility, Windsor Health Center, features 60 licensed beds with over 50 distinctive private rooms. Stratford, our on-site assisted living facility, has close to 40 spacious one-bedroom suites for our members. It’s a growing and thriving community. No wonder demand is always high. Spaces aren’t always available and when a residence does become available, it’s quickly taken by the next name on our waiting list. So getting on the waiting list as soon as possible is highly advised. Finally, confirming the elite status of Vicar’s Landing is our recognition by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF-CCAC), the nation’s only accrediting body for Continuing Care Retirement Communities.
