Does Penn State have a free gym? ›

All faculty, staff, and registered (semester bill paid) students of Penn State Harrisburg are eligible to use the fitness facilities, free of charge. Except for public events, upon entering the CUB, all users of the facility must swipe-in at the front desk using a current and valid Penn State ID.

There's an indoor turf field, a 1/6 mile indoor track with dispersed stretching and fitness zones, a martial arts room, ten racquetball courts, four squash courts, a table tennis lounge, locker rooms, a variety of lounge, study spaces, and meeting rooms.

Penn State's University Park campus has a banked indoor track at Rec Hall that is open to anyone. It was resurfaced in 1998, but unlike the track at the Multi-Sport Facility, it is a hard surface. The track is most popular with joggers, especially those unaccustomed to "the elements".

DLA+ renovated 3,000 square feet of Penn State's Lorenzo Wrestling Complex locker room area. The renovations included the locker room, pool room with a hot plunge pool and cold plunge pool, sauna, and shower and restroom area.

The University Fitness Center is an exclusive health and wellness facility, serving our Penn State Health affiliates including: College of Medicine students and alumni. Employees and volunteers (including spouse/significant other and eligible dependents.

Campus Recreation welcomes you at the McCoy Natatorium and White Building. We offer a variety of aquatic opportunities for health and wellness for all ages and skill levels. We encourage you to take a look at our offerings and recreational swim times.

TEMPERATURE – SQUASH COURT & VIEWING AREAS

It is suggested that the ideal temperature for the squash court and viewing area is between 15°C-20°C. Where some form of heating is necessary, a specialist consultant or contractor should be used to determine the most appropriate type and size of heating system.

University Park

The largest Penn State campus offers academics, activities, and recreation in the classic college town of State College.

Alcohol and Residence Halls

The possession or use of alcoholic beverages is prohibited in ALL Penn State on-campus undergraduate residence hall buildings, including White Course Apartments, Nittany Apartments, and Eastview Terrace.

Actively enrolled University Park students do not need to purchase a membership to use the Campus Recreation facilities. Memberships for full- and part-time students are included in the Student Initiated Fee paid each semester.

Eastview Terrace houses upperclass students in seven residence halls. Each student has a single room with a private bath. A study/social space and laundry facility is located in each hall. Nittany Apartments features four-person apartments for upperclass or undergraduate students.

All students at the University of Pennsylvania are eligible for memberships. If you're a full-time student, who is degree pursuant at the University of Pennsylvania, and assessed the “General Fee” on your university bill the membership cost is covered and you will have access for that semester/term.

Students are admitted free to the following sports: Women's Volleyball*, Wrestling*, Women's Basketball, Women's Ice Hockey, Men's Lacrosse*, Women's Lacrosse, Softball*, Men's and Women's Gymnastics, and all non-ticketed sports (not including post-season or championship events).

Fitness Center

Clean, comfortable, and state-of-the-art facilities are open seven days-a-week during the fall and spring semesters–weekdays during breaks and summer sessions.
